RELIGIOUS PROVINCE OF NORTHERN EUROPE
MARY, GATE OF THE DAWN

Lithuania - Netherlands - Iceland - Germany - Luxembourg - Scotland - Ireland

History

The history of our religious province begins in 2003 with the first foundation of the Institute of the Incarnate Word in Northern Europe, more precisely in Lithuania. For this reason our Province was placed from the beginning under the patronage of Our Lady, "Mary, Gate of Dawn", whose image is venerated in the city of Vilnius (Lithuania).

In 2004 it was founded in the south of the Netherlands and in 2005 in the north, when we also arrived in Iceland. In 2009 it began with the mission in Germany in the diocese of Berlin and in 2015 in the south, in Bavaria. In 2016 the mission in Scotland was annexed and we went from being a Delegation to being a Province. In 2017 we arrived in Luxembourg and in 2019 our missionaries began their presence in Ireland...
