“Saint Thorlac” Community

The mission in Iceland began on January 6, 2005 when two priests of the Institute took over the pastoral work of St. Joseph's parish in Hafnarfjörður, which belongs to the diocese of Reykjavík. Among the main apostolates of the parish are: teaching catechism for first communion and confirmation, preparation for the sacraments of baptism, confession and marriage; visiting the sick and blessing houses; printing catechetical material and the parish bulletin; and a parish choir. We also work with the Hispanic community and the Lithuanian community in the Cathedral of Christ the King in Reykjavik. At the diocesan level, pilgrimages to the Holy Land and Rome are organized.
